WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. (KATU) — Five people were arrested in an undercover sting operation, conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), targeting online child predators online.
During the operation, undercover deputies posed as underage boys and girls on multiple dating apps, social media sites, and other online platforms. The undercover deputies were then contacted by the suspects, who tried to arrange meetings with the “underage” person.
Once a meet-up site was established, the suspects arrived thinking they were meeting a child. Instead, investigators said they were met by deputies and arrested.
The five people arrested during the operation have been identified as 24-year-old Raymi Calla-McFarlane of Portland; 45-year-old Karl Bawden of Hillsboro; 65-year-old Glen Guthrie of Gladstone; 25-year-old Josue Romero-Lopez of Beaverton; and 49-year-old David Vichi of Wallowa.
All five suspects were arrested on complaints of luring a minor online and online sexual corruption of a child.
Investigators say there may be more victims of these suspects.
In April 2025, Hillsboro Police officers investigated Vichi after a minor came forward with information about alleged inappropriate contact. This investigation led the WCSO to include Vichi in its sting operation.
Anyone with information about any of the arrestees is asked to call WCSO at 503-846-2700.
