5 men arrested in child predator sting operation
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. —
Five men from Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois were arrested during an undercover operation targeting people investigators say were seeking “unlawful contact with minors.”
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led the operation, with several agencies using social media to identify suspects who thought they were talking to children.
Bartholomew County Sheriff Chris Lane said the five men traveled over 400 miles combined to Columbus, under the impression that they were going to have sexual contact with minors.
The men arrested were David Hahn, 48, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Matthew Ciske, 48, of Richmond, Indiana, Andrew Donat, 59, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Luis Nunez Machuca, 37, of Streamwood, Illinois.
They are each charged with child solicitation and attempted sexual contact with a minor, both of which are Level 4 felonies.
Nathan Jones, 49, of Thorntown, Indiana, is charged with child solicitation, a Level 4 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
He’s also facing misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
“We will continue to work with fellow law enforcement agencies everywhere to capture offenders against children and hold them accountable,” Lane said.
