BEMIDJI — Minnesota Aging Pathways will host a presentation on fraud prevention and scams from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at the Bemidji Senior Center, 216 Third St. NW.

The presentation will include information on fraud prevention, as well as how to detect and report fraud and scams.

“Fraud and scams are on the rise, with some scammers specifically targeting older adults,” a release said, “but there are ways you can protect yourself and your personal information.”

Minnesota Aging Pathways is a free, statewide service of the Minnesota Board on Aging in partnership with Minnesota’s area agencies on aging. This service aims to help older Minnesotans and caregivers find answers and connect to the services and support they need.

Our newsroom sometimes reports stories under the byline “Pioneer Staff Report.” This byline is used when reporters rewrite basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as an email or press release that requires little or no reporting.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.

For questions about a staff report, call (218) 333-9796 or email news@bemidjipioneer.com.
