GBI names assistant special agent in charge of Georgia Cyber Crime Center | #cybercrime | #infosec


The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has promoted Jerri Lynn Coody to assistant special agent in charge of the GBI Georgia Cyber Crime Center.

Known as G3C, the center conducts complex investigations involving cyber-enabled crime, cryptocurrency and digital forensics, the GBI said in a statement.

“Assistant Special Agent in Charge Coody’s promotion is a testament to her dedication, professionalism and decades of investigative experience,” GBI Director Chris Hosey said.

Coody began her GBI career in 1999 as a narcotics agent assigned to the Oconee Drug Task Force. She has held positions with the Macon Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Perry, the Region 10 Atlanta Office and the Region 6 Milledgeville Office. She worked with the Office of Special Investigations Unit as a public corruption agent before being promoted to assistant agent in charge of the Georgia Cyber Crime Center in Augusta.

A native of Hawkinsville, Coody graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and the National Forensic Academy at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
