A general diary (GD) has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station in Dhaka, alleging that the Facebook and WhatsApp accounts of International Crimes Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder have been hacked.
“According to the GD filed on March 24 by court keeper Sanjay Kumar, the personal Facebook and WhatsApp accounts, which were active on the mobile phone of the ICT-1 chairman, were hacked on March 18,” said Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Moniruzzaman.
“The GD has been forwarded to the Detective Branch of police for investigation,” he added.
In the complaint, Sanjay Kumar said that the hacking could lead to various forms of misuse through the compromised accounts, prompting the need to officially record the matter for future reference.
He also expressed concern that unidentified hackers might carry out “various malicious activities” using the accounts and requested police to document the incident accordingly.
