The Gilbert Police Department is increasing its presence around school campuses as students return for the 2026-27 school year.
According to the department, the effort includes additional traffic enforcement, educational outreach and community engagement initiatives aimed at improving safety for students traveling to and from school.
Police encouraged drivers, parents and students to follow school traffic procedures, observe posted school-zone speed limits and remain alert during morning and afternoon drop-off and pickup periods.
