Lucknow: Interacting with 34 trainee deputy superintendents of police (DySPs) of the Provincial Police Service (PPS) at police headquarters, director general of police Rajeev Krishna on Sunday laid stress on the importance of professional conduct, effective field leadership, and preparedness for contemporary challenges like cybercrime and public grievance redressal.He directed officers to treat public grievance redressal and cybercrime prevention as top operational priorities, underlining the state’s ambition to become a national leader in cyber enforcement within a year.“Proper briefing is not only essential for maintaining law and order but is also an art form that every officer must master. Young officers should ensure thorough and timely briefings to their subordinates before any deployment,” he said.He advised the officers to analyse field situations with a clear mind, take inputs from subordinates, and exercise their discretion in decision-making.“Open-mindedness, clarity of vision, and sound judgement are the three pillars of effective leadership. Real-world situations often diverge from textbook cases and officers must apply their training with flexibility and wisdom,” he said.He encouraged the officers to become agents of change, stay confident, and develop a sense of purpose in every assignment.
