Harcourts Foundation has granted $10,000 to Dress for Success Tasmania to run outreach employment services across Northern Tasmania through 2026/27, and is backing child safety and wildlife causes through Day for Daniel and a 500km bike ride in Thailand. The employment program will serve an estimated 20 people with professional styling, resume help and interview prep – extending a seven-year-old service beyond Hobart into Devonport and Launceston.

A $10,000 Harcourts Foundation grant will fund outreach employment services for women and gender-diverse people in Devonport and Launceston through 2026/27.

Presented by Harcourts Coastline | Devonport, the grant goes to Dress for Success Tasmania and will cover four outreach service days, giving an estimated 20 people access to professional clothing and styling, resume and job-search assistance, interview preparation and confidence-building support. The organisation has operated for more than seven years but has traditionally delivered its services from Hobart – the outreach program extends that reach into Northern Tasmania.

Pauline Smith, Harcourts Foundation Head, said access to the right support at the right time could make a difference to someone’s confidence and ability to re-enter the workforce.

“Access to the right support at the right time can make a real difference to someone’s confidence and their ability to take the next step towards employment,” Pauline said.

The Foundation has also awarded $3,039 to South Australian volunteer group Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc (SOWFI) to buy 50 possum nesting boxes and two medium-sized cages.

SOWFI runs a 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline and ambulance service, and in 2024–25 responded to more than 11,000 calls involving distressed wildlife, caring for more than 1,100 native animals across 49 species for a combined 47,000 nights. The nesting boxes will provide shelter for rehabilitated possums returning to areas without natural tree hollows, while the cages will house animals during rehabilitation.

Separately, Harcourts is encouraging offices across its Australian network to take part in Day for Daniel on Friday 30 October, supporting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s child safety education work.

Tom Donnelly, NAI Harcourts Head of Commercial, is calling on the network’s Red Team to wear red, share child safety resources and organise fundraising activities.

“It’s about using our people, our offices and our connections with local communities to help get an important message out there,” Tom said.

A group of Harcourts people will also join real estate professionals from across Australia on the Digital Live Bike Ride in Thailand this November, a five-day, 500km challenge supporting Hands Across The Water, which works with vulnerable children in Thailand. Since the ride began in 2019, participants and supporters have raised close to $3 million, helping provide educational opportunities for almost 300 children living in orphanages supported by the charity.

The Harcourts contingent includes returning riders and first-time participant Andrew Magro from Harcourts Exclusive. The ride also incorporates Ride for RISE, which promotes conversations about mental wellbeing and workplace culture.

Domonic Thompson, Harcourts Chief Operating Officer, said the riders’ commitment reflected the organisation’s values.

“What stands out to me is that so many of our people are choosing to be part of something bigger than themselves,” Domonic said.

“The enthusiasm for this ride reflects the values that sit at the heart of Harcourts: connection, community, resilience and a genuine commitment to wellbeing. It’s a reminder that our greatest strength has always been our people,” he added.

The Digital Live Bike Ride departs for Thailand in November.
