Hasbro says its network was hacked | #hacker

Pawtucket-based toymaker Hasbro disclosed in a government filing that its network was hacked.

The company says the “unauthorized access” was discovered on Saturday, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

“Upon discovery, the Company promptly activated its security incident response protocols, implemented containment measures, including proactively taking certain systems offline, and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity professionals,” Hasbro said in the filing.

Hasbro said it’s still working to determine how big the breach was and if any data was stolen.

“The Company is also working to identify and review the files potentially impacted and will take additional actions as appropriate based on its review and findings, including providing any notifications deemed necessary under applicable law,” Hasbro said.

The company said it may take several weeks to fully resolve the situation and that delays are possible to its business operations.

NBC 10 News sought comment from the toymaker.

Hasbro announced earlier this year that it will move its headquarters from Pawtucket to Boston.
