Free car seat safety checks will be available. In addition, water safety education and fittings will be offered along with a limited number of free life jackets for kids present provided by a grant funded by Gulf Coast RC&D Council. Pediatricians from Children’s & Women’s Hospital will be talking about safety topics such electric bike and scooter safety, along with other safety challenges facing families.
In addition, representatives from a variety of Baldwin County agencies will be on hand to share safety tips and lead fun, family-friendly activities, including emergency vehicle tours and other demonstrations. Organizers say the goal of Child Safety Day is to provide parents and caregivers with practical tools and information to help protect children, prevent injuries, and promote healthy habits.
Children’s & Women’s Hospital is planning a second Child Safety Day in May to be held at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf in downtown Mobile.
