Homewood police say a 41-year-old Georgia man was arrested after investigators conducted an operation in the Edgewood area targeting a known child predator.

The Homewood Police Department said the operation took place March 27, 2026. Police said Chase Andrew Womble, Sharpsburg, Georgia, was arrested for traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.

Police said Womble was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held on a $60,000 bond.
