A Hudson woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after investigators say she encouraged two children under age 12 to fight at an apartment complex in Greenport, an incident that was recorded and later circulated on social media.

Columbia County Sheriff Office said 33-year-old Sasha Brown of Hudson, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation involving two children under the age of 12.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report on Oct. 6, 2026, referred by Columbia County Child Protective Services, about an incident that happened Oct. 3 at the Greenport Garden Apartments on Green Acres Road.

Investigators said Brown encouraged the two children to physically fight one another as a way of resolving a disagreement involving Snapchat. Authorities said Brown stayed during the altercation and continued to encourage the children as they fought. One of the children is known to Brown, while the other is not.

The incident was recorded and later shared on social media, prompting public inquiries about the Sheriff’s Office investigation. No injuries were reported, and neither child required hospital treatment.

After the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Branch and Patrol Division charged Brown with endangering the welfare of a child. Columbia County Child Protective Services assisted in the investigation.

Brown was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear in Greenport Town Court on Oct. 19, 2026, at 3 p.m.
