Andre Walton guilty of historic sexual abuse against children
Andre Walton, 63, from Southampton, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for historic sexual offences against a child following a conviction at Hull Crown Court.
Walton faced charges for multiple counts of indecent assault, stemming from offences committed against three women in the 1980s and 1990s.
Initially charged in September 2024, Walton underwent a retrial in May 2026 after the first trial resulted in a hung jury.
He was found guilty of four out of the original 13 indictments, including indecent assault of minors and buggery as defined by the Sexual Offences Act 1956.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Clough praised the victim’s courage, leading to Walton’s conviction.
“We urge anyone affected by Walton’s offences to come forward and report their concerns,” Clough said.
The case demonstrates the commitment to holding perpetrators accountable, regardless of when the offences occurred.
Walton has been subjected to a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order alongside his prison sentence.
