Huntsville operation nets 10 child predator suspects | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing


The ten men face 34 charges between them.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A two-day joint operation between Huntsville Police and the Madison County DA’s office netted ten alleged child predators. nine in Madison County, one in Cullman County.

Between them, they face 34 charges ranging from human trafficking to electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.

“This operation is part of HPD’s unwavering commitment to protect our children from online predators,” said Police Chief Kirk Giles. “We will continue to work aggressively to identify, investigate and bring these offenders to justice.”

According to Huntsville Police, the operation focused on “identifying and arresting individuals attempting to engage in unlawful sexual activity with minors.” The suspects initiated contact with a person they believed was a child, but who was in reality an undercover officer. The suspects arranged to meet in person to “exchange money or goods for sex acts.”

Those arrested and charged are:

  • Darryl Lamont Surles Jr. , 33, Toney, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.
  • Marshae Deshawn Rivers, 33, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex Act, one count distribute/transmit obscene material to a child by electronic device and one count possession of controlled substance opium or derivative.
  • Damien Darrell Jones, 36, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: Two counts of first-degree human trafficking, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • John Wayne Erby, 59, Holly Pond, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Rubin Epps Banks, 44, Madison, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Oliver Clemente, 40, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a Child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Jared Lavon Breach-Morrow, 29, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Jahsiem Ramiek Davis, 31, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Jesus Alberto Moran-Carpio, 32, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.
  • Heriberto Priego Ramirez, 33, Huntsville, AL
    • Charges: One count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act.

 All individuals arrested remain under ongoing investigation. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.

Each individual is scheduled for an Aniah’s Law hearing, which will determine whether they may be held without bond due to the severity of the offenses.

Huntsville police remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
