DETROIT, UNITED STATES — IT Solutions Technology Partners, a managed service provider (MSP) serving businesses across North America, has acquired STACK Cybersecurity, a Detroit-area managed security service provider (MSSP) and AI enablement firm.

The deal expands IT Solutions’ presence in Michigan and adds cybersecurity governance and artificial intelligence (AI) expertise to its portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed.

STACK adds compliance and AI enablement

STACK specializes in cybersecurity, managed IT, compliance and AI enablement, with expertise in defense, manufacturing, healthcare, legal and professional services, according to a press release.

STACK helps businesses protect their systems and data, meet regulatory and contractual cybersecurity requirements and adopt AI responsibly.

It is a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Registered Practitioner Organization and has achieved System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 compliance.

IT Solutions, headquartered near Philadelphia and founded in 1994, serves law firms, healthcare providers, financial services organizations and other commercial businesses.

“We’re ready to help clients turn the promise of AI into practical business value through secure adoption and measurable results,” said Gerry Pearce, chief executive officer of IT Solutions.

“The team at STACK Cyber has earned their reputation by putting clients first and taking a highly personalized approach to the client experience,” Pearce said.

Miller cites shared client focus

Rich Miller, chief executive officer and president of STACK Cybersecurity, said he focused on two priorities when evaluating the company’s future: clients and employees.

“The reason I chose IT Solutions is simple,” Miller said. “They share our belief that relationships matter.”

IT Solutions said the deal reflects its ongoing investment in strategic growth and specialized technology capabilities.

By integrating STACK, the company aims to build a platform that combines local support and industry-specific IT delivery with enterprise-level expertise.

Clients will gain access to combined AI enablement and governance capabilities and a broader portfolio of strategic technology services, the companies said.

The deal shows a regional MSP buying security and compliance credentials rather than building them, as clients look to adopt AI without adding new risks.

For buyers of managed services, it puts CMMC-related compliance work and artificial intelligence governance inside one provider serving the Michigan market.

IT Solutions is positioned to pitch defense suppliers and regulated firms on secure AI adoption, a combination buyers comparing the top AI outsourcing companies will weigh.
