Kalonzo Musyoka accuses the government of neglecting rising concerns over school safety and student mental health, citing recent unrest and a lack of dedicated funding in the national budget.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the government of failing to address a growing crisis in school safety and student mental health, citing recent unrest and deadly school fires reported across the country.

Speaking in Nairobi, Musyoka said learners are increasingly raising concerns over unsafe dormitories, poor infrastructure, and mounting mental health pressures. He added that despite these challenges, the national budget does not allocate dedicated funding for school mental health programmes or improvements to boarding school safety infrastructure, even as billions of shillings are directed to other sectors.
