Kenya’s official State House website was reportedly hacked, with its homepage defaced and replaced by messages directed at President William Ruto.
The hackers are demanding a ransom in Bitcoin equivalent to approximately Ksh.41 million, News.Az reports, citing Citizen Digital.
The website, president.go.ke, showed that its official content had been replaced with demeaning messages directed at the Head of State.
This is not the first time hackers have targeted government websites and breached official information portals.
State House is yet to issue a formal statement regarding the alleged cyberattack.
