The City of La Vergne is assuring residents that notification letters recently mailed in connection with the city’s October 2025 cybersecurity incident are legitimate.
The letters were sent as part of the notification process for individuals who may have been affected by the incident.
The city acknowledged that some recipients questioned the return address or mailing location on the envelopes. The letters were mailed by an authorized third-party vendor assisting with the notification process, which is why the return address may be outside Tennessee.
Residents who receive a letter are encouraged to read it carefully, follow any instructions provided, and take advantage of any resources or services offered, if applicable.
The city said additional information will be posted on its Cybersecurity Notification webpage if more updates become available.
