WAPPINGER – Dutchess County Legislator Rob Faust, a retired police officer, recently met with school officials to discuss safety protocols in the Wappingers Central School District (WCSD). The meeting took place ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
The Wappingers Central School District is the eighth largest district in the state outside of New York City.
“It was great sitting down with Wappingers Central School District Superintendent Dr. Dwight Bonk and Assistant Superintendent David Seipp to talk about the future of our schools and ways we can continue building strong partnerships within our community.”
Faust said the conversation went beyond safety measures. “We had a productive conversation about supporting our students, strengthening connections throughout our community, and continuing to make the Wappingers Central School District a great place for our students and families.”
In addition to serving as a county legislator, Faust is also the Vice President of the RCK Volleyball Booster Club and a member of the Safety Committee. “I’m always looking for ways to bring people together and create opportunities that benefit our students and our community,” he said.
WCSD Superintendent Dr. Dwight Bonk, who leads the eighth-largest school district in New York State outside of New York City, welcomed the meeting with Faust. “I greatly appreciate the collaborative relationship between education and government to best serve our community,” he told Mid-Hudson News. “This meeting serves as a prime example of true collaboration.”
