PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington man was arrested in Pulaski County on Friday after sheriff’s deputies said that he engaged in sexually explicit conversation with what he thought was a minor.
Jose Sanchez, 48, is charged with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and first-degree distribution of obscene matter to minors.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said that it was contacted on Thursday by KyPredoPursuit, a group that used online decoys to expose potential child predators, that Sanchez had been communicating with a person he thought was 14 years old and planned to rent a motel room in the area to meet them.
Sanchez allegedly traveled to Somerset after making arrangements with what he thought was a teenage girl and reserved a room at the Comfort Suites.
He also brought a 7-year-old girl he said has autism.
Sanchez and the girl then left the hotel and arrived at a Family Dollar, where he was arrested.
