Lieutenant governor creates committee focused on cybersecurity
, Miss. —
State lawmakers say they’re moving to better protect Mississippi’s government systems from cyberattacks.
Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann said he’s created a Senate select committee on cybersecurity, tasked with studying how state and local agencies secure their information systems and how penalties are enforced against cybercriminals.
The committee will meet this fall and deliver recommendations for lawmakers to consider during the 2027 legislative session.
