Livingston police’s undercover operation led to multiple arrests of adults, including a Beaumont man, for allegedly seeking to exploit minors online.

LIVINGSTON, Texas — The Livingston Police Department says an undercover investigation launched in late July has led to multiple arrests of adults accused of attempting to engage in sexual activity with minors online, including a 29-year-old man from Beaumont.

According to a news release, Livingston police officers carried out a proactive operation targeting individuals who sought to exploit children through digital platforms. The department said officers identified and apprehended adults who believed they were communicating with minors over the internet.

One of those arrested was Christopher Sullivan, 29, of Beaumont, on a charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor.

Chief David Mitchell said the arrests highlight a growing danger facing families and communities as predators increasingly use phones, gaming systems and social media to contact young people.

Mitchell commended investigators for their swift work and urged parents and guardians to stay active in monitoring their children’s online activity.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
