BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has filed a child protection lawsuit against Roblox, the top gaming site for children and teens, accusing the platform of enabling sexual exploitation and failing to safeguard minors from predators.
The lawsuit claims Roblox has facilitated the distribution of child sexual abuse material, failed to implement basic safety controls, and withheld warnings from parents and young users about the platform’s risks.
“Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana,” Murrill said in a statement. “Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety.”
“Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger poised to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home,” said Murrill.
Roblox, launched in 2006, hosts more than 6.4 million user-created “experiences” and reports nearly 82 million daily active users. According to company data, 20% of users are under 9, another 20% are ages 9–12, and 16% are ages 13–16. The lawsuit notes that the platform does not require age verification or parental consent, allowing predators to pose as children and minors to bypass age restrictions.
While Roblox offers thousands of games marketed as kid-friendly, the lawsuit cites others that allegedly feature explicit content, including games named “Escape to Epstein Island” and “Public Bathroom Simulator Vibe.” Investigators say some of these experiences contain simulated sexual activity, including alleged depictions of child gang rape.

Murrill also referenced a recent Livingston Parish arrest in which a suspect accused of possessing child sexual abuse material was actively using Roblox with voice-altering technology to lure minors.
“Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger poised to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home,” said Murrill.
