Racial hostility and cybercrime charges against former mayor of Georgetown Ubraj Narine and Opposition Member of Parliament, Sherod Duncan were on Friday dismissed by Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court after the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the two accused.
The duo, represented by attorney-at-law Darren Wade, were charged in 2022.
The charges allege that the duo, using a computer system, attempted to incite ethnic divisions. They were also charged jointly with obstructing traffic, and placed on $200,000 bail for each charge.
