The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man for allegedly harassing and blackmailing a woman through WhatsApp and registered a case against him.
Acting on the directions of Additional Director Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad, an NCCIA raiding team, led by SHO Aamir Sultan, arrested the suspect, identified as Asim Mustafa.
Officials said they had recovered a mobile phone from the suspect, which allegedly contained threatening messages and objectionable videos of the complainant.
The NCCIA’s cybercrime police station registered a case against the suspect under Sections 20, 21 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, as amended in 2025.
Further investigation is under way, with officials examining the digital evidence recovered during the operation.
NCCIA officials said action against those involved in online harassment, blackmail and the intimidation or exploitation of citizens through digital platforms would continue without discrimination.
