According to the sheriff’s office, the allegations go back years.

CONROE, Texas — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with a suspected child predator. Investigators say the alleged abuse goes back years and the suspect was heavily involved with local religious ministries and children’s choirs.

Leland Fleming, 65, is being held without bond. His accusers were between 6 and 16 years old. Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office say some of the suspected abuse took place 13 years ago at Fleming’s home in a remote part of Conroe.

At the time, prosecutors say the victim was just 9 years old, and she says it happened multiple times.

According to court documents, a second alleged victim says she was touched by Fleming when she was 16, and a third claims she was 6 or 7 when the alleged abuse happened.

Fleming was arrested in Arkansas, then extradited to Texas on Thursday.

Although all three alleged victims are now adults, investigators are asking for help from the public due to what they’re calling Fleming’s involvement in various religious ministries throughout Montgomery County.

They say he also worked with children’s choirs and homeschool groups during his time in the area.

Fleming is currently charged with indecency with a child: sexual contact. He’s being held without bond.
