SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A 37-year-old man on probation for possessing child porn was arrested in Myakka March 11 and charged with new crimes, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said.
Using a SWAT team and drones, deputies descended on a home on Hidden River Drive and arrested Kyle R. Ex on 10 separate counts of child pornography.
Ex is currently a registered sexual offender after his conviction in Manatee County in 2024 for possession of child pornography. He was released from prison in November 2025 and is currently on sex offender probation through 2038.
Court records include a probable cause affidavit that said some of the videos found at his home March 11 depicted children estimated to be between 5 and 8 years of age.
The affidavit also alleged messages through the social media app Kik indicate Ex was “planning with other users to rape various children whom he knows and has access to.”
