VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) — A Visalia man was sentenced for targeting children for sex using social media after one girl’s family took matters into their own hands.
23-year-old Tyler Vai See was ordered to serve 40 years to life in prison. Prosecutors said he would contact girls as young as 10 and ask for explicit pictures or to meet up.
They said videos discovered on See’s phone confirmed sex acts with two children.
Court documents show See arranged to meet a 13-year-old girl in August 2024. He did not know the victim’s family had discovered the messages between the two and adults arranged the meet-up in Orosi.
When See arrived and realized he had been set up, he tried to speed away and struck a car.
The family then held him until law enforcement arrived.
In March, See pleaded no contest to 12 felony charges against 12 victims.
He will register as a sex offender for life.
