LAHORE:The Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s ‘Mera Pyara’ Virtual Centre for Child Safety has completed two years of service, earning global recognition after being named Global Champion in the E-Governance category at the WSIS Prizes 2026 and being listed among the world’s top digital governance projects by the United Nations.

According to the authority, the centre has handled more than 161,000 child-related cases over the past two years, reunited 82,382 missing children with their families and facilitated the registration of 29,230 criminal cases.Managing Director Muhammad Ahsan Younas said the international recognition reflected Punjab’s success in using modern technology to strengthen child protection.
