JACKSON, Miss. —More than six dozen county websites in Mississippi have been inaccessible for over a week following a cyberattack, with counties still working to restore access. On Tuesday, state officials unveiled the attorney general’s cyber crime lab, a new facility designed to combat cybercrimes and scams targeting residents. “We had over 80 million scams among Mississippi citizens. Our office recovered $2.5 million, and this year, we got $4 million,” said Shawn Wolfe, director of the cybercrime division. “There needs to be more education. Over 50 percent of the victims are over 50. There needs to be more education on that level.”Several counties affected by the attack are continuing efforts to regain access to their websites.
