As children begin to enjoy their summer break, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is ramping up child predator investigations.
This week, seven men were arrested in connection with “Operation Heatwave,” a multi-agency investigation to capture online predators.
The sheriff’s office, along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the FBI and Homeland Security, conducted the operation, leading to 31 felony charges.
Issa Mtambwe, Kendall Andrews, Forrest Brown, Jacob Lee, Andrew Rockhold, Clayton Bradford and Jared Fables were all charged with unlawful possession of child pornography. Bradford and Fables were also charged with unlawful dissemination of child pornography.
The sheriff’s office said it will continue to investigate suspected child predators to keep children safe during the time of year when they have less supervision and more access to the internet.
