Senior Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan has said he’s ‘fully cooperating’ with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA)’s investigation into his conduct during the recent tour of England.

Rizwan, alongside opener Imam-ul-Haq, was sent back in the middle of the tour after two poor Tests and was immediately put under the scanner of the NCCIA, which comes directly under the purview of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief and the country’s interior minister, Mohsin Naqvi’s purview.

As per reports from the Pakistani media, his phone was confiscated by a PCB security officer, and its data was transferred for the NCCIA investigation.

“I am fully cooperating with the investigation. I am waiting for the investigation to be completed,” Rizwan told Samaa TV.

The PCB has only said it’s undertaking a disciplinary investigation into a few players’ conduct during the tour. The NCCIA has not mentioned what Rizwan is being probed for.

Reports in Pakistani media have claimed that the cybercrime body will check the players’ correspondence during the tour, which includes their messages and calls. In addition, the agency is expected to investigate the players’ monetary transactions, including their bank records.

Other reports have claimed that the NCCIA gave the players a questionnaire and at least one of Rizwan and Imam asked for some time to respond to the queries. As a result, Rizwan and Imam have not been able to link up with their domestic teams for the ongoing red-ball tournaments. There’s currently no timeline on when the investigation will end.

Five other players were removed from the squad but are currently not under any investigation. The same goes for head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul, who were sacked in the middle of the tour.
