Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party MP Parbati BK has drawn the government’s attention to expedite the resettlement work of Jajarkot earthquake victims. She drew attention in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Stating that the manpower mobilized by the government is not sufficient for the post-earthquake reconstruction work, she demanded to send more manpower. She questioned how long the earthquake victims of Jajarkot would have to stay in tents.
Mentioning that citizens are suffering due to gas shortage in various parts of the country, she urged the government to make the supply management effective and solve the problem in time. MP BK also drew the government’s attention to effectively regulate social media to prevent increasing incidents of cyberbullying.
She emphasized that if social media cannot be regulated, serious social problems like suicide due to cyberbullying may increase further, and this issue should be addressed with priority. Speaking in the meeting, she said, ‘How long will the earthquake victims of Jajarkot have to stay in tents? I want to draw the government’s attention. The deployed manpower is also not sufficient, more manpower should be sent.’
Raising the issue of gas shortage and cyberbullying, she said, ‘On the other hand, citizens are in a lot of trouble today due to the end of gas, the government should pay attention in time to how their problems can be solved.’
She stated that if social media is not regulated, an environment is being created where many people commit suicide, and the government should pay attention to this. MP BK also said that the government should be serious in solving problems directly related to the public’s direct concerns.
