During proactive patrols throughout the morning, multiple individuals were observed behaving suspiciously while on foot, each carrying heavy bags. Stop-and-search procedures were conducted, revealing copper piping and pieces in their possession. The explanations provided regarding the origin of the items could not be verified.

With the support of aerial monitoring and strong coordination between all teams on scene, the incidents were handled swiftly and efficiently. Five suspects were apprehended, of which three were arrested and taken into custody by Pinetown SAPS, while two were later released following further verification and complainant input.

These incidents highlight the ongoing concern around opportunistic copper theft in the area. More importantly, they demonstrate the impact of vigilant patrols, immediate intervention, and strong coordination between GWA members, security personnel, and SAPS.
