Nashua School District expands policy to cover off-campus cyberbullying

NASHUA, N.H. —

During this week’s Nashua Board of Education meeting, leaders updated the district’s policy to include cyberbullying that occurs outside of school.

The changes come after the passage of a law addressing bullying and cyberbullying. Gov. Kelly Ayotte signed off on HB 131, a major update to the existing anti-bullying law, the Pupil Safety and Violence Prevention Act, in July 2026.

The law changed RSA 193: F3 and F4, which expanded policies to cover bullying outside of the classroom.

“Even if it happens at home on the weekends, if it happens between students, it still falls under this policy and is subject to disciplinary procedures at school,” said Heather Raymond, member of the Nashua Board of Education.

School districts across the state have a deadline of Dec. 15 to send a report to the state on how they’re implementing bullying procedures based on the new state laws.
