Community leaders from across New Mexico gathered Thursday for the School & Community Safety & Harmony Summit, an event focused on improving school safety and strengthening support systems for students and families in the Navajo Nation.The summit, held at Route 66 Casino near Albuquerque, aims to create stronger partnerships between schools, families and local organizations.The event featured resource exhibitors, breakout sessions and group discussions covering topics ranging from mental health support to emergency preparedness and communication strategies. Attendees also explored ways to better connect families with available services and resources.The summit followed school safety trainings held earlier in the week in Farmington and Gallup. Those trainings focused on emergency response planning and school preparedness efforts.
