Haunted Hudson Valley
The October breeze blows through the Hudson Valley and the haunted history starts to rise from the grave.
In a place so rich with history, there’s a good chance the Hudson Valley is one of the most haunted regions in the United States.
A popular local business just shared some of the creepier things they’ve caught on their security cameras after they lock up for the night.
Did Newburgh Brewing Company Catch a Ghost on Camera?
Newburgh Brewing Company shared a series of still photos on their social media accounts earlier this week.
The pictures were grabbed from their security camera, which caught an strange moment on camera after Newburgh Brewing locked up for the night. It happened back in February 2024 around 10:26 pm ( it was a Sunday, when Newburgh Brewing closes at 6pm).
No one was in the building when they got a notification from the security camera. Nervous that someone was in the building, they checked expecting to see a human. However, they saw something else.
Take a look:
What do you see? Some people in the comments think they see a ghost dog. Another comment reads “This freaked me out a bit, and I am use to feeling spirits!!!”
We asked Paul from Newburgh Brewing Company if he and the team think the building is really haunted and he says:
We do. Almost definitely kitchen focused. We’ve had stuff that has moved overnight. Like the garbage cans and some of the knives.”
What Could Be Haunting Newburgh Brewing?
Newburgh Brewing explains that their building was constructed in the 1850s and was once a steam engine company, a yarn factory, and the Newburgh Paper Box Company.
While they know the history of the businesses, they were curious if any events occurred that could play into why a ghostly figured popped up on their cameras.
So, they reached out to the City of Newburgh Historian who told them that the “Newburgh Paper Box was stressful but safe enough work in most regards.”
However before that, when the yarn factory occupied the building, things were a little more dangerous. The City of Newburgh Historian states:
the looms and spinning equipment in the earlier mill (the yarn factory) could have caught up a worker. That was fairly common and not everyone survived.
There was also heavy equipment during the steam engine company era which the City of Newburgh Historian say “endanger and terrorize workers creating and casting iron and steel weighing tons.”
Do we think it’s a steam engine or yarn factory employee coming back to haunt their previous employer?
Or maybe the ghost is just grabbing a drink after a long day at the factory…
