NRI Secure launches AI governance service under Innovation Strategy 2026 #AI

NRI Secure Technologies on August 27 launched a consulting service to help companies and organizations build security governance frameworks for the research, development and use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, according to a company statement.

The new service targets both organizations developing emerging technologies and those deploying them in business operations. Research and development organizations face issues including protecting research results and technical information, managing information in joint research with outside parties, and responding to technology leakage risks. Organizations using such technologies in operations face challenges including establishing usage rules, clarifying accountability, handling confidential information and tracking how the technologies are used.

NRI Secure said the service supports clients in identifying security risks based on the purpose and extent of technology use, and in developing management policies, usage rules, operating structures and technical measures tailored to each organization. It also covers organizational measures such as policy development and risk management, as well as technical controls including access management, log management, data protection and monitoring.

The company said the service incorporates an “agile governance” approach, under which risk management policies and security measures are reviewed and improved continuously as technologies evolve.

The launch comes as social implementation of technologies such as AI, cybernetic avatars and digital twins accelerates, increasing the need to reassess security measures in line with changing technologies, the release said. Cybernetic avatars allow users to remotely operate equipment in the physical world through an avatar in virtual space, while digital twins recreate a virtual environment corresponding to the real world using data collected from physical settings.

Japan’s government in July adopted its Integrated Innovation Strategy 2026, a basic policy for science, technology and innovation. The strategy promotes those fields as a foundation for growth strategy and economic security, while also emphasizing protection of research environments and prevention of technology outflows, according to the release.

NRI Secure has also worked on support for AI guideline development, preparation of usage rules and migration support for post-quantum cryptography, a next-generation encryption technology intended to address future code-breaking risks from quantum computers.
