Oklahoma City organization urges older adults who fall victim to scams to seek help

OKLAHOMA CITY —
Scammers are constantly coming up with new tactics to steal money, and older adults in Oklahoma are among their targets, according to Jim Hopper, CEO of the Areawide Aging Agency.
“I think the biggest thing to know about scams is it happens to all of us. It is constant, you don’t need to be embarrassed about it. As hard as it is to not be embarrassed that you got scammed. Don’t be embarrassed about it. It is not your fault,” Hopper said. “Protect your credit cards, protect information, don’t give information out over the phone to people.”
