The On Call Security company has distanced itself from the conduct of three of its security officers who were involved in an incident with an e-hailing driver in KwaNdengezi recently.
The company said the actions of the three officers, during which a scuffle ensued, were not authorised and fall outside of its operational mandate, internal policies, and PSIRA regulations.

Owner and director of On Call Security Ginah Ngcobo said the company “strongly condemns any form of violence or misconduct” and fully disassociates itself from the behaviour of the individuals involved.
“The actions of the three officers are not in line with company policy, PSIRA regulations, or the professional standards we uphold. It is in this context that the company distances itself fully from the actions of the individuals concerned. The officers acted outside of their mandate and without instruction from management,” said Ngcobo.
The company also rejected allegations that its owner had intimidated any of the parties involved, describing the claims as “false and unfounded”.
It said the director was not present at the scene during the incident and does not have contact details for the e-hailing driver, making it impossible for him to have issued threats.
On Call Security confirmed that the three officers were handed over to KwaNdengezi police on June 4 for investigation and processing, adding that the matter must be allowed to run its legal course.

In line with regulatory requirements, officials from the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA), together with law enforcement officers, also visited the company’s premises on the same day to conduct their own inquiry. The company said it fully cooperated and provided all requested documentation.
“On Call Security remains committed to professionalism, accountability, and the safety of the communities we serve,” the company said.
It added that internal disciplinary proceedings have already commenced, with further action to be determined once criminal and internal processes are concluded.
The company warned against what it called the spread of false information relating to the incident, saying it reserves the right to pursue legal action against individuals or entities making unfounded allegations.
“We will not comment further while the matter is sub judice,” the statement concluded.
