Online Predator Safety Workshop for Parents | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing

Williamson County Schools parents and caregivers can learn how to protect children from online predators at a Project iGuardian Zoom workshop on Wednesday, November 4, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The virtual session is the second in a series of Parent Workshops hosted by the Williamson County Schools Counseling Department. It’s open to adults only and includes time for questions.
Project iGuardian Workshop Set for November 4
The November 4 workshop focuses on Project iGuardian, a program built around protecting children from online predators. The session runs one hour, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and takes place entirely on Zoom. Families can join from home without traveling to a school building.
Homeland Security Investigations Presents the Program
Project iGuardian is presented by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the primary investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The program informs parents, educators and law enforcement about the risks children face online. Williamson County families attending the workshop will hear directly from the agency behind the program.
Online Predator Tactics and Device Privacy Among Session Topics
Discussion topics during the session include:

Tactics adult predators use online to target children
The information devices give away about you and your child
Additional online safety topics for parents and caregivers

The hour-long session closes with time for questions. Because of the subject matter, the presentation is for adults only.
