OpenAI plans to launch a cybersecurity model aimed at competing with Anthropic’s Claude Mythos. This new AI cybersecurity model is designed for advanced hacking and defensive capabilities and will be available to a select group of businesses via OpenAI’s Trusted Access for Cyber pilot program.

The Trusted Access for Cyber pilot program was initiated in February to improve baseline safeguards while testing trusted access methods. OpenAI previously committed $10 million in API credits to participants of this pilot program.

In a related development, Anthropic announced its intention to release Claude Mythos Preview, targeting a select group of companies to rectify software vulnerabilities. This initiative aims to reshape the landscape of cybersecurity.

As AI capabilities in cybersecurity approach a tipping point, concerns have escalated among government officials regarding the misuse of these tools to disrupt critical infrastructure, including financial systems and power grids. RFA, a global IT security provider, warned that AI is heightening cybersecurity risks for private equity firms.
