Palo Alto Networks, the Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity company, has acquired Console, an AI-native platform built to bring agentic capabilities to enterprise security operations.
The deal is designed to give organisations the ability to apply AI-driven analysis and automated action across their operations, allowing alerts, issues and requests to be resolved at machine speed rather than relying solely on manual intervention.
Console’s technology will be folded into Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex platform, where it is expected to strengthen the company’s existing agentic capabilities. The integration is intended to support security teams as they investigate signals, prioritise workloads and act across their environments, moving beyond traditional dashboard management and ticket queuing toward more autonomous workflows.
Palo Alto Networks describes itself as a global cybersecurity leader. According to the release, the acquisition reflects the view that as AI continues to reshape the threat landscape, organisations require security platforms capable of operating with greater speed, contextual awareness and operational discipline. The company frames the move as part of a broader shift toward what it calls “software-as-an-agent”, in which platforms are equipped to carry out remediation and response autonomously rather than simply presenting information for human teams to act upon.
Console was founded on the premise that operators should be able to state a goal in natural language and let intelligent software manage the complexity of achieving it. Its existing customer base has reportedly used the technology to reduce operational overhead and reshape business processes, and its team will now be integrated into Palo Alto Networks’ broader platform and global reach.
Palo Alto Networks chairman and CEO Nikesh Arora said, “Security operations can no longer be about managing dashboards and queuing tickets just to help humans work faster. By bringing Console into Palo Alto Networks, our customers can have a direct conversation with data and build agentic workflows in natural language that helps alert and remediate issues automatically. This is the shift to software-as-an-agent, giving our platform the arms and legs to deliver autonomous security outcomes across the entire enterprise.”
Console co-founder and CEO Andrei Serban said, “We built Console around a simple idea: people should be able to express an operational goal, and intelligent software should handle the complexity required to achieve it. Our customers have already proven that agents can dramatically slash overhead and transform their business. Joining Palo Alto Networks gives our team the security expertise, platform foundation, and global scale to bring that vision to the world’s largest enterprises. Together, we can make agentic operations faster to adopt, safer to govern, and far more consequential.”
