Lucknow: In a significant step toward combating the rising tide of cybercrime, UP director general of police Rajeev Krishna held a high-level meeting with senior officials from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and ministry of home affairs, at Police Headquarters, Signature Building, Gomtinagar Extension, on Wednesday.The meeting was attended by I4C CEO Rajesh Kumar and IG of Threat Analytics Unit, Rupa M, along with senior officers from UP Police, including the ADG (Cyber Crime). The session focused on enhancing collaboration between the state and central agencies to build an integrated, tech-enabled response to cyber threats.I4C, launched in Jan 2020 by ministry of home affairs, is a flagship initiative aimed at creating a coordinated and comprehensive ecosystem to prevent, detect and respond to cybercrime across India. Centre plays crucial role in strengthening law enforcement capacity and building synergies among stakeholders to enhance citizen protection. A senior officer mentioned a proposal to set up dedicated cybercrime coordination and investigation centre in UP, with special focus on crime related to women and children and separate monitoring mechanisms.The officer said, “Development of a streamlined system for instant registration of cybercrime complaints was discussed and there was emphasis on efficient collection, tracking and management of cybercrime data and complaints.
