Police have been conducting Palle Nidra in villages to boost confidence among the people and to spread awareness among the people about cybercrimes and the ill-effects of drugs in Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patel, police officials stayed overnight in six problematic villages as part of the programme. The personnel interacted with the villagers, learnt about their problems and counselled them.
The villagers were also made aware of cybercrimes. The personnel told them not to click on unknown links, not to reveal OTPs to others and be wary of calls from unknown individuals. The police also publicised the helpline number 1930 to report cybercrime.
The personnel also appealed to the villagers to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers.
In Nandyal, Palle Nidra was held in Chintalayapalle village in Kolimigundla mandal on Friday night. The Kolimigundla police interacted with the villagers and spread awareness on cybercrimes and road safety and also asked women to download Shakti App for their safety.
