Late Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 5, a tip came into the Crimestoppers P3 app informing authorities about a videoed threat to commit a shooting at Ponchatoula High School (PHS) on Monday, Aug. 10.
TPSO School Resource Officers (SROs) immediately began an investigation and confirmed the source of the threat was Kaufman, a senior at PHS. Deputies quickly located the female and took her into custody.
“Parents, please, have a talk with your children. Remind them to leave their beefs at home. Stay off social media with all the ignorance because we’re going to err on the side of caution and we will press charges,” said Sheriff Gerald Sticker.
