Portland bar, security company face $20 million lawsuit after stabbing

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A Portland bar and its security company are facing a $20 million lawsuit after a woman was stabbed inside it last year.

The lawsuit, filed in Multnomah County on Tuesday, says River Pig Saloon and its security contractor failed to keep guests safe during a busy night last December.

Lawyers say a woman was walking through a crowded bar when a man shoved her and then stabbed her.

The lawsuit claims the attack could have been prevented, pointing to past safety issues and poor crowd control.

River Pig Saloon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tony O’Neal Taylor Jr., 33, was recently arrested in connection with the stabbing. He is charged with three counts of assault, two counts of menacing and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
