Georgetown, Ky. – School safety professionals, educators, administrators, counselors, School Resource Officers, and community leaders from across Kentucky will gather June 9–10, 2026, at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown for the 2026 Safe Schools & Communities Conference, hosted by the Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS), the Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers (KYASRO), and the Kentucky DARE Association.
The two-day conference will feature nationally recognized keynote speakers and breakout sessions focused on school safety, threat assessment, youth mental health, reunification planning, digital safety, school security trends, crisis recovery, legal updates, prevention strategies, and strengthening partnerships between schools and law enforcement.
Keynote presenters include Dr. Scott Poland, an internationally recognized expert on school crisis response and youth mental health, and Michele Gay, co-founder of Safe and Sound Schools and a nationally recognized school safety advocate.
Conference organizers say the event is designed to provide practical tools, training opportunities, and collaborative learning experiences that help schools create safer environments for students and staff across Kentucky.
