A private organization that investigates suspected child predators reported a second similar incident to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office within two weeks.
The latest incident was reported July 15 on Hawks Court in Nicholson after members of the group said they communicated with a man through several social media platforms while posing as a 14-year-old boy.
The group alleged the man sent sexually explicit content and requested an in-person meeting. The man told deputies he did not know the person’s age but acknowledged sending a link to a pornographic website and inviting the person to his residence, according to the report.
Investigators took the man’s cellphone as evidence. He was jailed on an unrelated out-of-county warrant.
In the earlier incident, deputies were called to a Galilee Church Road location near Jefferson after the group said a man made sexual comments and sent a nude image to a decoy posing as a 15-year-old. That case was also turned over to investigators.

According to the incident report, the woman said her mother entered her room, holding a bottle of cleaning solution. She said she appeared intoxicated and accused her of using profanity. The woman said her mother then sprayed the solution in her face and then threw objects at her, leading to a fight. She said her brother broke them up.
•overdue motorist on Elias Hayes Trail where a woman said her boyfriend never returned to her residence despite saying he was driving to a gas station. The man was later located by Hoschton police at a restaurant. The woman said a similar incident occurred weeks earlier.

•fraud on Cambridge Farms Drive where a woman said a man posing as an officer with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) instructed her to pay $20,000 because she had an arrest warrant for missing jury duty.
According to an incident report, the woman said the man told her to pay the $20,000 before reporting to the sheriff’s office, and instructed her not to tell anyone about the warrant due to a gag order. She said the man called her from a Jackson County government phone number and didn’t realize it was a scam. The woman said the man remained on the phone with her as she went to the bank to withdraw the money. When she saw the bank was closed, he told her to pay the money through Cash App. According to the report, the woman received an error message from Cash App indicating that the transaction was a scam. The man then instructed her to go to Walmart to obtain a money order. When those attempts failed, the woman told the man she would just turn herself in to the sheriff’s office. She learned the call was a scam when a sheriff’s office receptionist told her there was no arrest warrant.

She said the three cursed at her when she told them they couldn’t ride there. The woman said the juveniles do this daily and refuse to listen to instructions. A deputy later located the juveniles at West Jackson Middle School and told them they couldn’t ride bikes on the pickleball courts.
