LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men are accused of attempted child sex acts following a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) predator sting in Luzerne County.

Daniel Lichtenwalner of Nazareth, 38, and Tyler Spangenberg of Pittston, 25, face charges after police say they both sent sexual messages to an undercover trooper they thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Troopers made a false advertisement the week of June 9 of a 14-year-old girl offering several sex acts for money, to which they say both Lichtenwalner and Spangenberg responded to.

After multiple messages, Lichtenwalner attempted to meet the girl and was arrested, according to the affidavit.

After identifying Spangenberg as a previous Megan’s Law offender and utilizing an unauthorized Snapchat account, an arrest warrant was issued.

Both men face several charges, including unlawful contact with a minor.
